When was the carpet museum built and where is it located?

In the last century, many efforts were made to collect exquisite and old Iranian carpets. With the efforts of the Pahlavi government and after a delay of 15  years, the Iranian Carpet Museum was finally opened in 1978.This museum, which is a manifestation of authentic and ancient Iranian art, is located on North Kargar Street and is adjacent to Laleh Park. Today, many carpet exhibitions are held annually in Iran and other parts of the world by the Iran Carpet Museum.

General features of Carpet Museum of Iran:

In order to create an association of the main structure of the museum with the theme of carpets, the structure of the exterior is designed to resemble a carpet hanger. In addition, a kind of Penumbra has also been made on the carpet walls. This Penumbra design reduces the effect of the hot summer sun on the internal temperature of the building.This 3500  square meter building has many halls and galleries on two floors. Different and exquisite rugs and carpets have been displayed in this museum since the 15th century. Some of these works are not only rare, but rare, and the only existing copy is in the Iranian Carpet Museum.It is interesting to know that in addition to carpets, the library of the Carpet Museum is also very famous and about 3500  manuscripts and non-manuscript books have been collected in it, which adds to the importance of the museum.
